Banks Island study

BIOSTRATIGRAPHY AND CORRELATION OF 11 WELLS, BANKS ISLAND, ARCTIC CANADA

Banks report image newSummary

Banks Island contains thick sections of Devonian strata and provides a crucial link between the Canadian Beaufort Mackenzie Basin and the Sverdrup Basin. The report provides details of the biostratigraphy and lithostratigraphy of all eleven wells drilled on Banks Island, based on quantitative palynological analysis by Dr Jonathan Bujak of 524 cuttings and 72 core sample.

Individual well reports document the stratigraphy of the eleven wells, and a synthesis report includes detailed descriptions of all formations present in the wells. Quantitative palynological data is presented in Excel and Stratabugs format, consistent with all Bujak Research reports on the Arctic, extending from the Chukchi Sea in the West to the Barents Sea in the east.
